A great number of people consider their wedding day the most important, monumental day of their life, and that’s why exactly why they want every moment captured so they can cherish those mementoes for life. Now, as glamorous as the actual wedding photos are, they are the equivalent of a movie – everything is already done and only the glitz and the glamor are portrayed. The ‘getting ready’ photos are actually much more fun. They’re the equivalent of what goes on behind the scenes of a movie set and they capture genuine emotions and steps that were taken to achieve all the glam. They ooze sincerity, love and all the little flaws, the jitters and little bumps on the road. Those are the moments you truly want to remember. So, in order to capture these precious hours before the ceremony, it’s highly important to book your photographer in advance and convey your vision to them clearly. If you’re fresh out of ideas, well, that’s exactly why we’re here; to lend a helping and inspirational hand so you can get the best out of your ‘getting ready’ photos.

MAKE ME UP

Photos of you and your bridesmaids having their hair and makeup done are simply adorable. You and your girls in matching robes, sitting at a makeup table, trying to get that perfect look - these are classic moments that show your transformation from the girl in a messy ponytail to a bridal goddess and it’s most definitely something you want captured. The silly makeup faces, the open mouth when they’re putting mascara on your lashes – it’s all priceless.

 THE BRIDAL PARTY

When a bunch of girls are gathered in one room, it’s truly a bridal PARTY. Sipping drinks, goofing around, jumping on the bed, posing in your robes and slippers – these are the moments of pure joy and fun. Capturing those moments with your bridesmaids has, because of all that genuine fun and emotions, become an integral part of wedding photography in Sydney – the bride could not survive without her best gals and this is something that should be kept alive and vivid forever.

TIME TO SHINE

Putting on your wedding dress is one of the most monumental moments. The photographer can capture the details of the dress while it’s still hanging on a personalized hanger (perfect backdrop is mandatory). The look on your face when you see yourself in it, your girls helping you with the little buttons and tightening your corset,  making sure everything is in its place, your mom by your side doing the final touches, and you all dolled up and ready to walk down that aisle – it’s pure behind the scenes magic.

THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS

A great photographer will make sure to leave no detail uncaptured. Your bridal bouquet against a blurred background, the bracelet your mum gave you, the veil, the something borrowed and blue. The makeup scattered on the table, dresses hanging around waiting to be worn by bridesmaids – the devil truly is in the details.

THE MOST PRECIOUS OF THEM ALL
The only photos that can trump ‘the bridal party’ are the ones with your family. Your mum giving you a kiss on the forehead while giving you her blessing and passing on final words of wisdom with tears bubbling up inside her eyes – when you look at the photos all the words and the loving looks will come rushing back to you. There is also the classic holding of the hands – you, your mum and your grandma holding hands, three generations of wonderful women captured in wonderful lighting. Finally, there’s the moment when your mum looks at you, fixes that rogue strand and of your hair before you walk out the door. There will be dancing, cake, posing, but these spontaneous moments loaded with emotions are the ones you’ll be coming back to forever.
