I was looking forward to styling Mia + Stephen's wedding as it was a beautiful contrasting theme which I love to have in all my events. The rustic nature of the space mixed with the elegance of the romantic draping linen + candlelight dining experience.
It was held at Simmer On The Bay, which is a bit of a hidden gem. It's located at Walsh Bay and is an exposed brick warehouse right on Sydney Harbour. The space is a fairly blank canvas, and we wanted to create a moody and romantic vibe, while still being minimal and showcasing the stunning space we were in.
To bring the ceiling down a little to create a more intimate space, we had the florist Sierra Bloom create some hanging arrangements over the guest table and main table, filled with blue gum and roses.
We also engaged an AV technician to install some exposed pendant lights so we could cut the house lights and guests could dine by candlelight and the glow of the eddison bulbs.
The tables were lined with navy chiffon runners, gold candlesticks with extra long white candles and rose petals.
The bespoke acrylic sign sign we created and hung above the cake was one of my favourite elements.
Enjoy this magical wedding...
